This was my final undergrad capstone project. I worked with Cycling Canada's Paralympic handcyclists' to improve their performance through proper hydration.
PROCESS
Ideation
This project taught me a lot about how failure in design is important to the design process. I changed my idea multiple times over a few months until I decided to simply reimagine instead of redesign, and improve on the current hydration process used by hand cyclists, which is a water bladder and a bite tube.
User Testing and Model Making
THE SOLUTION
The final solution was a CO2 pressurized system used with a elevated magnetic clip, to allow the end user to simply bite the end of the tube and the H20 will squirt into their mouth effortlessly and completely hand-free. This process is similar to that of an F1 race car athlete.
Final Model
The final model was 3D printed in clear and white plastic and spray painted.
