The group project was to design a set of ski goggles that matched a brand's identity, in our case the brand Dyson. We analyzed their brand and their key features to help us come up with our goggle design. We had to incorporate elements of the brand while still remaining subtle to the look of ski giggles and adhering to comfort and safety considerations.

IDEATION FOR GOGGLES
IDEATION FOR GOGGLES
We analyzed Dyson's visual design, their market and their technology since they are key features to their brand. From this, we came up with ideas and rough sketches of possible ski goggles to match those key features. We concluded that our goggles should have spherical, curvilinear lens, should improve an issue with ski goggles (lens fogging), should incorporate air flow, should use the colour red to infer to the user where to interact with the product, and to use transparency to show off interior features.

We started with measuring out where we wanted the goggles to be on the head and then layering small pieces of recycled clay to build up to the thickness we needed. While doing so, we scrapped the layers to make them smooth to avoid air bubbles.

Once we added the good clay on top of the recycled clay, we started to subtractive sculpt the lens and the frame of our goggles while smoothing out the surfaces.

We proceeded to implement the details of our design such as chamfuring the frame, adding the tabs for the interchangeable lenses, adding foam around the goggles, and carving out the air flow holes on the top and bottom of the model.

Our final design had features such as interchangeable lenses, interchangeable straps, Dyson's cyclone technology to improve air flow and to be anti-fogging lenses, and similar aesthetic features to Dyson's consumer products (ie. simple geometric shapes, chamffers, curvilinear forms).
